Brutal Records is proud to announces the signing of Overcast Rain

Hailing from the city of Liepāja, this formidable band is gearing up to unleash their third studio album in 2025 under the Brutal Records banner.

Formed in 2014 by the visionary duo of Mihails Maslovs (vocals/guitar) and Kolja Kirk (drums), Overcast Rain has risen as a beacon of Latvia’s metal scene. Over the years, the band has evolved through lineup transformations and sonic reinventions, solidifying their status as one of the genre’s most dynamic forces. Their discography includes two acclaimed albums:

• Since You Die (July 11, 2020)
• My God Hates Me (March 1, 2022)

Both albums have achieved remarkable success, with tracks like “All Hope Is Gone” breaking into the Destrokit Rock chart Top 50 and earning spots in the European Metal Channel rankings. These works are now enshrined in the National Library of Latvia as cultural treasures.

The Evolution of Overcast Rain

After a hiatus, Mihails and Andris Aleksejevs reignited the band in 2018 with a fierce determination to craft a heavier and more aggressive sound. Embracing new members and shedding female vocals, the band evolved into a raw, unrelenting force. Their revamped lineup debuted with electrifying performances at the Bunker13 Fest and earned second place at the Fresh Blood competition, setting the stage for their meteoric rise.

Overcast Rain’s relentless energy has captivated audiences across Malta, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Croatia, and Russia, gracing the stages of premier festivals like Dark Malta Fest, GoatHell Metal Fest, Barbar Fest, and DiFest. Sharing stages with legends such as Die Krupps, Blood Red Throne, Psyclon Nine, and Ost+Front, they’ve left an indelible mark on the global metal scene.

The Next Chapter

Currently in the studio, Overcast Rain is crafting a highly anticipated album featuring 13 brand-new tracks. Their relentless dedication to pushing the boundaries of dark metal ensures this release will be nothing short of groundbreaking.
